June 29th

Today was one of those days you want to take a million pictures, because everyone was just being so darn cute! So here's a few so you can see how adorable they all were:

It was so toasty today, you can see Timon the boxer's tongue was hanging practically to the floor!

Buster (left) became fast friends with Rupert (right). I didn't know Buster could sit still that long! Buster is a pembroke welsh corgi, and Rupert is a cardigan welsh corgi.

Holly the westie snuggles up to Princess the cairn terrier:
Here's Kobe the shiba inu, acting his usual studly self. He's one hip dog!

These two were so sweet together. Charlie is an australian shepard puppy and he loves the pool! Gretchen the great dane is asking him to come back out and play. Toby the german shepard is hangin' out in the background.

June 28th

Today there was a big size contrast here at the Divine Canine. We had everything from Great Dane to Westie. It was pretty funny walking from one yard into the next, and suddenly feeling like you'd grown or shrunk several inches. Being short, I much appreciate the tall feeling I get from walking around the little dogs. Although, I still love big dogs. My three dogs are all rather large, but I swear the next one will be under 100 pounds! I'm determined! All the different sized dogs have such positive attitudes, but I can guess who pulls more on a walk!
Here are some doggy pics again:

This is Copper the golden with Zoe the french bulldog. Copper thinks he's a little dog, and loves to be with them the most. He's a real gentle giant!

Keegan the westie and Layla the boxer puppy hang out, oblivious to Copper the gigantic bloodhound passing by on the other side of the fence. Copper the bloodhound is my youngest dog, a year and a half old, but he's also my biggest at 120 pounds.

June 27th

More good weather today, and lots of energetic dogs! I have a lot of blurred pictures, taken as the dogs were zooming by. =)

this picture was taken a while ago, before Theo moved to Canada. It's Theo, Lily, and Cali. Those three made a very comical trio!

Here's Mooky- she wins for best hairdo! She's a real sweetheart, a daschund/yorkie mix. Her mom says she's a dorkie!

This is Zoe, she's got a big dog attitude!
Marcy is popping her head out of the jungle gym to say hello!

June 26th

Today was a fun day, with a couple new puppies to play with. It was much cooler today than yesterday, but that didn't stop Summit the lab from playing in the wading pool. Yesterday the dogs couldn't get enough of the pools, and we put out small ice blocks for them to play with, but today it was just a bit of wading around. There was lots of playing though! Everyone is much friskier on a cloudy day. Here are some pictures from previous days:

Here's Luna and Luke, joking around

And Shadow, getting a drink. She's always wet. She's a big fan of the wading pools, too.

And here's Indigo, basking in the sun. The dogs get to sit in our chairs much more than we do!

Summer is here!

With the start of summer, some changes have been made at the Divine Canine. We started requiring dogs' nails to be kept short, changed the back yard around, making it bigger, and added air conditioning to the kennel area!

The staff has also changed a bit. Christie also left at the end of May to go back to Canada with her husband and Tiffany took her place. Beth has also stopped working Friday afternoons so she can focus on school and her other job. Valerie is still with us!

The latest change to come is the creation of this blog! I thought it would be a good way for you to keep up with the daily news at the Divine Canine. We will try to update it as often as we can, posting pictures and any daily tidbits we find interesting.

Please check back often!
